(HONG KONG, May 25, 2017 PRNewswire=연합뉴스) PMQ is pleased to announce the opening of PMQ Design Select at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP), Seoul. The opening ceremony of PMQ Design Select at DDP was held on 11 May 2017, with an opening address given by Mrs. Winnie Kang, Hong Kong Economic and Trade Representative, followed by the speeches from Mr. Lee Keun, CEO of SDF, and Mr. Victor Tsang, Executive Director of PMQ.
The new Pop-Up currently features trendy products of eight unique design brands in PMQ, including 513 Paint Shop, BeCandle, FABcessories, Goods of Desire, Loom Loop, Lucy Shih, Nu Design, and POMCH. The selected items capture a design diversity ranging from lifestyle, fashions and accessories, to gifts and premiums, and reveal to visitors the creative influences from the city of Hong Kong. Additional design stores and brands from PMQ will also make the journey to showcase their design concepts from their create-preneurs.
On 20 April 2017, DDP also launched its pop-up store at PMQ. This creativity exchange project between PMQ and Seoul Design Foundation (SDF) aims to facilitate the dialogue between emerging talents in Hong Kong and South Korea, and enhance the cross-border partnership between cultural institutions in the two cities.
DDP is a multi-cultural complex in Seoul which has staged diverse cultural events and continues to actively promote new design trends. PMQ is a creative landmark in Hong Kong nurturing the city's emerging talents with a zest for creative design and innovation. Through this collaboration, PMQ and SDF hope to open up an international platform for designers of both cities to exchange with one another and to provide them an overseas market to reach new audience, fostering the conversation between two unique cultures.
